Práticas Desobedientes

A non-profit organisation in the Recôncavo Baiano, Bahia. It began in 2019 as a training programme inside a research and extension project at UFRB, became independent in 2020 and, in 2024, an institute. It thinks its own sociality as a form of study, articulating strategies and methodologies through processes of artistic creation concerned with cognitive liberation, epistemic disobedience and self-emancipation.

The wagers

• To welcome the fear of freedom, de-individualising every kind of suffering that arises from that fear.
• To allow the body not to fear aesthetic forms it cannot yet recognise, making difference a principle of vitality and of non-repetition of the systems of death.
• To recover and attribute aesthetic-ethical-political value to founding experiences not always inscribed in the instituted regimes of truth.
• To work at creating aesthetic communities in which the forces of oppression do not persevere.
• To encourage the interrogation of ontologies and epistemes in favour of liberating the body that knows and feels.
• To break with and operate a critique of representation itself, even if only to return to it by other forms.
• Never to lose sight that care and rigour with language is the access to the material redrawing of the real.
